Our Mission

Unreal Engine Memphis is a creative technology community built for creators, by creators.

Our mission is to unite and empower a diverse group of individuals passionate about Unreal Engine, including game developers, artists, writers, filmmakers, musicians, educators, virtual production specialists, and VR/AR enthusiasts.

We provide a supportive space for learning, collaboration, and innovation through free workshops, networking events, and creative projects. We believe in building a thriving community where ideas become reality and creativity knows no limits.

🗓️ Meetup Format and Schedule

Meetups offer a variety of activities aimed at bringing people together for social, professional, and educational purposes. Here is a breakdown of what typically happens at our events:

• Social Outings: These are casual gatherings where members can relax, have fun, and get to know each other better. Activities might include dining out or engaging in recreational activities.

• Networking: These events focus on creating opportunities for members to connect professionally, exchange information, discuss industry trends, and build relationships for future collaborations or job opportunities.

• Workshops: These sessions are designed for learning and skill development. They include hands on activities, presentations, or discussions led by experts in various fields.

• Game Jams: We co host the annual Global Game Jam at the FedEx Institute of Technology on the University of Memphis campus, partnering with the Memphis Game Developers. We also participate in the Epic Mega Jam when hosted by Epic Games. Our own personal game jams are currently in development.

We organize meetups every two months, offering both virtual and in person options to accommodate different preferences and circumstances. (Note: Sometimes there will be multiple events going on.)

A free, inclusive community led by volunteers and supported by Epic Games, empowering creatives to learn Unreal Engine, collaborate on projects, and grow their careers. Our events bring together game devs, artists, educators, musicians, VR enthusiasts, and more uniting Memphis through creative technology.
