Sonoran Spooks and Scans is a Halloween-themed Unreal Engine Community Event focused on all things scanning. From materials and photogrammetry to LIDAR and Gaussian Splats, this event brings together artists, developers, students, and enthusiasts to explore how real-world data transforms into digital worlds!
Open to everyone: students, professionals, hobbyists, and newcomers. This is a fun, family-friendly evening that blends creativity, technology, and Halloween spirit. Costumes are highly encouraged because we’ll be scanning attendees in costume and giving everyone their own digital 3D asset to use in Unreal Engine.
There will be candy, pizza, and even 3D printed pumpkin painting for attendees of all ages. Whether you’re curious about scanning workflows or just want to celebrate Halloween with the Unreal community, you’ll find something to enjoy.
This isn’t a formal conference or lecture. It’s a community-powered Halloween hangout where you can explore scanning technology, watch live demos, and get hands-on experience with photogrammetry, LiDAR, and Gaussian splatting.
We’ll also have talks and short presentations planned on topics like Gaussian Splatting in Game Engines and 3D Scanning Workflows, pending speaker confirmations. Bring all your creative energy, and Halloween vibes and celebrate an Unreal Halloween with the community!
