About this event

Hi, all!

In this presentation, Tom Hanusa provides a brief overview of AI topics and reviews Unreal's StateTree plugin for controlling characters (and more) in the context of character action game. He will go over the nuances and common pitfalls of StateTree, as well some best (or at least better) practices for working with this plugin.

Tommy Hanusa is a former software engineer turned independent game developer who has been using Unreal for the last 5 years. While initially starting with game jams and personal projects, he has recently made the leap to creating his own business and is hard at work on an unannounced project.

We are fortunate to have a great space at the Amazon Skills Center located here:

Amazon Oscar building
1007 Stewart St (2nd Floor).
There is paid parking at the base of the building and on the street.

Afterwards, many of us go to the Seattle Indies meetup in at the Stoup Brewery in Capitol Hill to talk to local game devs. In August, that meetup shifts to Monday nights, but the Unreal group will continue to meet on Tuesdays for now.

Looking forward to seeing you!
