On September 26, Budapest will host Game Dev Day, the conference where Hungarian and regional game developers come together for a full day of talks, networking, and inspiration.
The full-day program, hosted by the Hungarian Game Developers Association, will feature 17 talks and panel discussions across three tracks. This year’s speaker lineup promises to be just as exciting as ever, ranging from solo indie creators to experts from successful Hungarian studios. One panel will explore the opportunities and challenges facing aspiring indie developers in Hungary, while another highlight will be a talk from a technical artist at CD Projekt Red, currently working on The Witcher 4, about the advantages of developing custom game engines.
Beyond the talks, attendees can look forward to plenty of other engaging activities. The expo area will showcase more than a dozen Hungarian games, where visitors can try them out and meet the developers in person. The pitch competition offers teams a chance to present their projects to an international jury and publishers, gaining valuable professional feedback. The Team Finder helps hobby developers connect with new collaborators in a fun, interactive way, while the business section provides targeted B2B networking opportunities with key industry players. And to wrap up the day, the official After Party is the perfect place to relax, recharge, and continue conversations in an informal setting.
As always, the organizers have made sure the program covers a wide spectrum of topics—so whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned veteran, you’ll find plenty of useful and inspiring content at the event.
