September 11: Austin Industry Unreal Developer Meetup - September (Nanite: Verts, Tris, and Performance – Oh My)

Developers Kevin Nappoly and Sarma Vanguri will walk through a high-level overview (with low-level performance numbers), things to keep in mind for assets (pipelines & impacts), and examples for how to get the most out of Nanite in Unreal Engine – All while taking care of all of your target platforms.

Sarma Vanguri is the Technical Art Director for Enduring Games, an independent studio in Austin, TX. With nearly three decades in the video game & film industries, Sarma focuses on traditional, procedural, & future pipeline optimizations, master technical lighting, Houdini expertise, and every part of the asset pipeline. Games include Immortals of Aveum, Demon's Souls, ReCore, Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, and more. Films include Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Happy Feet, What Dreams May Come, The Matrix, and many more.

Kevin Nappoly is a Rendering & Graphics Lead at Enduring Games, an independent studio in Austin, TX. Kevin focuses on low-level graphics pipelines, platform specialization, early technology assessment & proof-of-concepts, and optimization & data-driven profiling. With a strong background in rendering paradigms, extensive experience in console and PC development, and expertise in customizing game engines, Kevin works to advance the state of real-time graphics in interactive digital games.
