Game Zanga (Special Edition)

Welcome to Game Zanga- an event targeting game development enthusiasts across the Arab region.

What is Game Zanga?

Game Zanga is an event aimed at game development enthusiasts throughout the Arab region, challenging them to develop games within a specific theme over just three days. The goal is to encourage the learning of required game development skills and to foster rapid development in an exciting atmosphere that promotes participation, interaction, and experimental game development.

Game Zanga, or as known in English as Game Jam, is a popular format for game development events globally, where game developers of all levels gather to develop games within a specific theme (known in English as Theme) in a very short period. The specific theme is a constraint all participants adhere to, ensuring a start and end to game development within the event duration. It also serves as a challenge to developers, pushing them to be creative in concept and execution.

Game Zanga is a non-profit initiative to support the gaming industry, initially organized by the Tako game developers community and today organized by volunteer game developer communities from all around the Arab world.

What's different in this Game Zanga and why is it called the (Special Edition)?

Previously, the numbering system (from Game Zanga 1 to 12) was used for two main reasons:

The theme (Theme) is specified by the organizing team... In previous editions, the game developer community would propose themes for the Zanga, and the selection was based on voting.

Judging and prizes... There is a judging panel to experience and evaluate the games, based on which valuable monetary prizes totaling up to 38,000 Saudi Riyals are distributed across 10 categories, sponsored by (Special Edition) partners Compete for Information Technology and Gars platform.

Game Zanga (Special Edition) Schedule: It will be held at 8:00 PM Saudi Arabia time on Thursday, 2024/2/29, and will end at 10:00 PM on Sunday night, 2024/3/3, i.e., 3 days (72 hours).

Judging Criteria

Use of the Zanga theme: Does the game adhere to or use the theme in an unusual way? Is the game's relationship to the main theme strong, or is it superficial and unclear?

Entertainment and enjoyment factor: Is the game fun? Is the control good? Do you find yourself wanting to play again after the game ends?

Innovation: Is the game idea new? Is the presentation style new? Are there ideas you haven't seen before?

Graphics: Evaluation of the game's visuals and graphics not just technically but also aesthetically and stylistically.

Sound effects: Evaluation of the game's sound effects both technically and artistically.

Use and support of the Arabic language: Evaluation of how well the Arabic language is used and supported in the game.

ماهو زنقة الالعاب؟

زنقة الالعاب هي فعالية تستهدف محبي تطوير الألعاب في جميع أنحاء المنطقة العربية في تحدي لتطوير ألعاب ضمن موضوع محدد خلال ثلاثة أيام فقط. والهدف من ذلك هو تشجيع تعلم المهارات المطلوبة لتطوير الألعاب وتطويرها بشكل سريع في أجواء حماسية تشجع على المشاركة والتفاعل والتطوير التجريبي للألعاب.

الزنقة أو ما يعرف بالإنجليزية بـ الكيم جام Game Jam هي إحدى صيغ فعاليات تطوير الألعاب الرائجة عالمياً حيث تجمع مطوري الألعاب من كافة المستويات ليطوروا ألعاب ضمن موضوع (بالانكليزي معروف ب Theme) محدد في فترة قصيرة جداً. الموضوع المحدد يتقيد به الجميع كوسيلة لضمان بداية ونهاية العمل بتطوير اللعبة خلال فترة الزنقة كما أنها وسيلة لوضع عائق أو قيد لتحدي المطورين ودفعهم لأن يبدعوا في الفكرة والتطبيق.

زنقة الالعاب هي مبادرة غير ربحية لدعم صناعة الألعاب بدأ تنظيمها من قبل مجتمع مطوري تاكو للالعاب واليوم يتم تنظيمها من قبل مجتمعات مطوري الالعاب متطوعين من جميع انحاء العالم العربي

ماهو المختلف في هذه الزنقة وسبب تسميتها ب(النسخة الخاصة)

…سابقا كان نظام ترقيم (من زنقة الالعاب ١ الى ١٢) …لسببين رئيسيين:

• الموضوع (Theme) محدد من قبل فريق تنظيم الزنقة… النسخ السابقة كان مجتمع مطوري الالعاب يقترحون مواضيع للزنقة ويتم الاختيار بناءا على التصويت

• التحكيم والجوائز… يوجد لجنة تحكيم لتجربة ولتقييم الالعاب وعلى اساسها يتم توزيع جوائز مادية قيمة تصل مجموعها الى ٣٨ الف ريال سعودي موزعة على ١٠ تصنيفات مقدمة من رعاة (النسخة الخاصة) شركة تنافس لتقنية المعلومات ومنصة غارس

موعد زنقة الالعاب (النسخة الخاصة): ستقام في تمام الساعة الثامنة مساءا بتوقيت السعودية من ليلة الخميس بتاريخ ٢٠٢٤/٢/٢٩ وتنتهي في تمام الساعة العاشرة مساءا من ليلة الاحد بتاريخ ٢٠٢٤/٣/٣ … اي ٣ ايام (٧٢ ساعه)

معايير التحكيم

• استخدام موضوع الزنقة: إلتزام اللعبة بالموضوع أو إستخدامها للموضوع بطريقة غير مألوفة. هل علاقة اللعبة بالموضوع الرئيسي وطيدة؟ أم أنها علاقة سطحية وغير واضحة؟

• عامل التسلية والاستمتاع: هل اللعبة ممتعة؟ هل التحكم جيد؟ هل تجد نفسك مقبل للعب مرة أخرى بعد إنتهاء اللعبة؟

• الإبداع: هل فكرة اللعبة جديدة؟ هل أسلوب التقديم جديد؟ هل يوجد فيها أفكار لم تراها من قبل؟

• الرسوميات: تقييم لمرئيات ورسوميات اللعبة ليس فقط من الناحية التقنية بل من الناحية الجمالية والأسلوب أو التوجه الفني

• المؤثرات الصوتية: تقييم المؤثرات الصوتية في اللعبة واتقانها من الناحية التقنية والفنية

• استخدام ودعم للغة العربية: تقييم مدى استخدام وتسخير/دعم اللغة العربية في اللعبة

• جائزة المركز الأول وقيمتها (10000)

• جائزة المركز الثاني وقيمتها (6500)

• جائزة المركز الثالث وقيمتها (4000)

• جائزة أفضل استخدام لموضوع الزنقة وقيمتها (2500)

• جائزة أفضل لعبة ممتعة وقيمتها (2500)

• جائزة أفضل إبداع وقيمتها (2500)

• جائزة أفضل رسوميات وقيمتها (2500)

• جائزة أفضل مؤثرات صوتية وقيمتها (2500)

• جائزة أفضل استخدام ودعم للغة العربية وقيمتها (2500)

• جائزة أفضل لعبة حسب تصويت الجمهور (يتم التصويت من قبل المشاركين والغير مشاركين في الزنقة، حيث يتم التقييم حسب نفس المعايير أعلاه ،لكن بوجود فائز واحد) وقيمتها (2500)
